Description:
This is a Alfa Romeo also called the boat tail spider from 1966 to 1969. These Spiders were called this due to the sloped shape of the deck lid. The boat tail Spiders have the most beautiful design which makes them among the most desirable everyday Alfa Romeos. They were from a period of Alfa manufacture that represents the best of times, just prior to major emissions and safety changes. Powered by a 1600cc twin-cam four cylinder, the Duetto offered great performance and an attractive body. The body featured bumpers that were set into the front and rear with a front grille set below the front bumper. The Duetto came with twin carburetors and four-wheel disc brakes. Production of the Duetto was finished in 1967 after only 12 months and only 6,325 ever produced, making them a rare collector's car. This example offered is a very straight and unmolested survivor. This Alfa was featured in Road & Track August 1989 and has always been in Southern California. The restoration of this Alfa was also featured in Road & Track in a three part series in 1983. Everything is in stock configuration including the still-intact headlight covers. A lot of money has been spent over the years and it is ready to be driven and enjoyed. Excellent mechanical condition! Not a show car, but a very beautiful and powerful driver.
